Pizza Versus Pasta

There’s so much incredible cuisine that it’s challenging to select just one as being “the best.”

Indeed, there may not be an objectively best food out there, but some pretty tough contenders are pizza and pasta. It is hard to claim that one is better than the other.

We still firmly believe that pizza is the best, even compared to pasta. There are many reasons for this, all of which we will explain in this article.

After all, you can’t make a claim as controversial as this one without having some sort of argument to back it up!

Of course, we’ll be providing every argument you need. We’re not saying that pasta isn’t fantastic, but pizza definitely has some advantages that just can’t be denied. Those advantages make pizza a superior food.

Pasta Delivery Isn’t Exactly Common.

Let’s say you don’t want to cook for yourself and you want to get something delivered. Of course, getting pasta delivered to your doorstep isn’t strictly impossible, but let’s be honest: it’s not something you can get done easily.

Most places that sell pasta don’t deliver it. If they do, it’s through a third party that you would have to pay extra.

Moreover, would you really even want pasta delivered to you? It’s not the type of food item you see being packed into a box and driven out to your location, is it? And if the drive is too long, said pasta would be old or lukewarm at best.

It’s also much easier to find a place to deliver pizza to you than pasta.

You might have to struggle decently to find a restaurant that will deliver pasta to your house. Still, it is almost always possible to get pizza delivered to your home no matter where you live. Moreover, it tends to be relatively simple.

There’s More Potential Variety in Pizza

Don’t get us wrong, there are many different types of pasta out there: it comes in all shapes and sizes. But while there might be some slight changes in texture and the like, most people could probably agree that pasta tastes pretty similar across the board.

It mostly tastes the same, and the addition of sauce makes the difference.

Although there are many types of sauces for pasta, no one can deny that the potential combinations of pasta and sauce are far inferior to those of pizza. This is because those combinations are mainly affected by crust, cheese, sauce, and toppings.

Eating pasta every day for a week might get old since you have limited options available, but the same can’t be said of pizza.

There’s no limit to what crazy combinations you can come up with, from deep-dish vegetarian to thin-crust vegan and traditional meat lovers. There are even dessert pizzas!

All of this is to say that you can get a vast array of unique experiences even if you eat pizza a lot, and that’s not something you could say of pasta.

Pasta Doesn’t Really Work for Parties or Big Groups

Some food is just better for large groups of people than others. Needless to say, there’s a significant difference between pasta and pizza in this category.

How many parties or gatherings have you been to where pasta was the main dish? Unfortunately, it just doesn’t really work that well.

Even if you choose to have pasta at a party, that’s a hassle. You would have to provide dishes and utensils for everyone to use. It’s not conducive to a party with people being stood up and often having their hands full.

Naturally, pizza doesn’t have this problem. With crust making a natural plate for everyone to use, all anyone needs to eat is their hands and, at most, a napkin.

It is easily eaten while standing and generally allows you to keep at least one hand free to do other things. That’s pretty useful at a party.

Needless to say, pasta at a party or for a big group of people just isn’t ideal. Pizza is much better in that situation, without a doubt. It just can’t be beaten as the ultimate party food.

Pizza Offers More Diverse Nutritional Value

Sure, it sounds a little odd when considering pizza. Still, overall, pizza is healthier for you than pasta is in most cases. But, of course, that depends on what type of pizza you are talking about because various toppings and ingredients can make a difference.

But that unique variety of ingredients is why you can get more nutrition from a pizza. The variety of meats and vegetables you can put on pizza can provide protein and other valuable vitamins and minerals.

When it comes to calories, carbs, and fat, it depends on what you put in the pizza or the pasta. So, naturally, different ingredients make a huge difference in these things.

Overall, pizza and pasta are roughly equivalent in these things in most cases. However, pizza still gives you more other valuable vitamins and minerals.

Of course, we’re not trying to say that pizza is some ultra-healthy superfood, but neither is pasta. So neither is super healthy. Still, pizza has the potential to be healthier than pasta does, so it’s worth mentioning.

Pasta Is Not as Good as Leftovers

Some foods excel as leftovers, while others do not. Pizza is one of the best foods in the world when it comes to being leftovers: it can be eaten cold, after being warmed up in a microwave, reheated in the oven, or cooked in the air fryer. Any way you want to do it, pizza is still pretty good.

On the other hand, pasta is really hit or miss when it comes to being a leftover food.

Obviously, you don’t want to eat it cold. Still, you also don’t get a delicious result when you put it in the microwave. Pasta is best when it is fresh and can be a little lackluster when it isn’t.

This makes pizza better in this regard as well. Suppose you’re the type of person to finish off all of your food at once. In that case, it isn’t such a big deal, but otherwise, you’ll have to deal with the fact that your leftover pasta just isn’t as good as leftover pizza.

Conclusion

Pasta is very good; there’s no denying that. But there are just some ways in which pizza is better, which can’t be denied either.

We suppose one could say that pasta has some unique advantages of its own, but are they as significant?

Pizza can be anything you want it to be, it almost always tastes good, and it is perfect for sharing.

In our opinion, these factors make pizza the superior choice of food between it and pasta.
